Privacy Policy

Effective 24 June 2026. This policy is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Honest Build HQ ("HBHQ", "we", "us") collects through this website and the Scout tool, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who is responsible for your data (Data Fiduciary)

The Data Fiduciary responsible for your personal data is Honest Build HQ. For any privacy question or request, contact us at honestbuildhq@gmail.com. Our Grievance Officer is Hitesh, reachable at the same address.

2. What we collect, and why (purpose limitation)

• Your email address, only when you choose to join the early-access list — used solely to email you about Scout's availability, launch and product updates. We do not use it for anything else and we do not sell or rent it.
• Basic technical data (e.g. timestamp and a record of your consent) kept with your signup so we can prove consent was given, as the DPDP Act requires.

We collect only what we need for the purpose stated above. We do not ask for, and you should not submit, any sensitive personal information through this site.

3. The "Try Scout" tool — your data does not come to us

When you use the in-browser "Try Scout" tool with your own Anthropic API key, the request runs directly from your browser to Anthropic. Your API key and the text you paste are not sent to, stored by, or seen by HBHQ. They are processed only by Anthropic under Anthropic's own terms and privacy policy.

4. Consent

We collect your email only on the basis of your explicit, informed consent, which you give by ticking the consent box and submitting the form. Your consent is specific to the purpose in Section 2. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 7); withdrawing is as easy as giving it.

5. How long we keep it (retention)

We keep your email only for as long as needed for the stated purpose, or until you ask us to delete it or withdraw consent — whichever is earlier. When the purpose is served or consent is withdrawn, we delete it.

6. Where it is stored and who can access it

Your data is stored in a private, access-controlled database that we own and control, hosted in an India or Asia region. It is not publicly accessible and is not shared with, or held by, any third-party marketing platform. Only HBHQ can access it, and only to fulfil the stated purpose. We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect it.

7. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, you have the right to:

• Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
• Correct, update, or complete your data;
• Erase your data, and withdraw consent, at any time;
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer; and
• nominate another person to exercise these rights in the event of death or incapacity.

8. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. If we ever use a service provider (Data Processor) to operate the service, they will be bound to process data only on our instructions and to protect it.

9. Children

This service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
